Intense Competition as IPL 2025 Approaches Final Stages
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 30: With the league phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 drawing to a close, the battle for the top positions is intensifying.
The Mumbai Indians are concentrating on securing victories in their recent matches, with their upcoming challenge set against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Trent Boult, who has played for the Royals in the past three seasons, addressed the media before the match, commending Mumbai's impressive resurgence following a rocky start to the tournament.
“The team is in a great place. It’s a lengthy tournament, and while we would have preferred a stronger start, winning five consecutive matches feels fantastic,” Boult remarked, according to the Mumbai Indians' official website.
“We possess significant experience within the team, and it’s encouraging to see everything aligning at the right moment. However, there’s still much work ahead. We’re prepared to face a formidable opponent tomorrow and are eager for a thrilling match,” he added.
On the topic of RR's emerging talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently achieved a record-breaking century against the Gujarat Titans, Boult expressed confidence in facing Rajasthan's in-form openers.
“The entire world witnessed that remarkable performance recently. It’s impressive to see such quality from a young player. Facing someone so fearless and in great form will be an exciting challenge,” he stated.
“They have excellent batters who are high-quality strikers of the ball... I know this squad and ground well, but this time it’s different for me. I’m looking forward to competing against my former team. I believe we have a strong bowling lineup that can adapt to various conditions, so I’m genuinely excited about this challenge,” Boult concluded.
He also expressed his enthusiasm about bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah once more.
“I share a great rapport with Boom (Jasprit Bumrah). He’s a key leader in our team and an experienced bowler who plays a crucial role in our squad. His return has certainly uplifted the group. It’s great to see him taking wickets in the last game, and he will be vital for us as the competition progresses,” he added.
